Kalia Brooks

PROGRAM OFFICER

Kalia Brooks is a Program Officer at Fundamental, where she helps shape Hearthland’s grantmaking in arts, culture, and storytelling. Her work supports creative leaders and organizations that advance justice, equity, and belonging. With more than two decades of experience at the intersection of art, education, and public life, Kalia has held roles at NXTHVN, the International Center of Photography, the Studio Museum in Harlem, and Columbia University. She has curated exhibitions nationally and internationally and taught courses on visual culture and the African Diaspora. Kalia remains active in local arts networks and advisory committees. Outside of work, she enjoys visiting museums, watching movies, backroad car rides, and discovering new cafés.
